Roman site of Cillium

Cilium was the ancient name of the city of El Qasrayn that was constructed by the Romans in the 2nd century Ad . By the passage of time , the post of the city decreased and most of the buildings of the city were destructed until the French occupation when the railway station was established in the city .

Thre are still some remains of the Roman City of Cillium scattered over a vast area of land in the area next to the place of l'independence about 4 km to the west . Although the remaining parts of the Roman Cillium are limited , they are worth visiting for the consummate skill of the artisan who sculptured them with that quality . The remains stand currently about 3km away from the modern El Qasrayn City with its hotels and entertainment centers .
