How to get to Dougga

The ancient Roman city of Dougga in north Tunisia can be accessed through two entrances: one faces Teboursouk , 8km to the northeast , at the eastern edge of the site; the other , at the southwestern edge , is 4km up the slope from the Nouvelle Dougga (New Dougga) junction on the El Kef- Teboursouk Road .
Admirers of Tunisian sports of high historical values can visit Dougga on a day trip from Tunis or Le Kef . Take a taxi from the louage station of Teboursouk , the nearest town from Dougga . If you start your trip to Dougga from Le Kef , you can get off the bus at the Nouvelle Dougga , turn-off on the main road , and walk for 4km or you can get a ride from one of the passing locals .
