Sousse Archaeological Museum & Kasbah
The enchanting Archaeological Museum of Sousse lies at the southern section of the 9th-century kasbah onto the city walls . Inside the Kasbah , there is the Khalef tower which was built by the Aghlabids in AD 859 . The rooms around the kasbah's two main courtyards contain a huge variety of exceptional exhibits . The museum houses a wonderful , priceless corpus of skillfully-made mosaic works that are considered the best in the country . The displays include the invaluable Triumph of Bacchus , which depicts the Roman god of wine riding in a chariot at the head of a parade of satyrs . There is a Punic grave beneath the museum , from which many funerary objects were extracted .
