Souq la Laine
In Tunis, there is a large number of markets centered in Medina, all organized into different commercial areas that display various goods and outfits including essential oils, souvenirs, satin baskets, gifts, clothes, wools, caps and hats. Among the different Souqs (markets) surrounding the Zaytouna Mosque are the Souq elAttarine (the Perfume Makers' Souq), Souq elTrouk (the Turkish Souq), Souq des Libraires (the Booksellers' Souq), and Souq el-Grana (the Livornese Jews' Souq). Often, most of the markets date back to the 13th century AD and they were either named after the community that had first founded it or their traditional trade.
