Siliana
The Governorate of Siliana is one of the twenty-four governorates (provinces) of Tunisia, located in the Upper Tell region, in the country's northern section. It spreads over around 4,631 km², with an estimated population of 233,100 (July 2007 statistics). The capital of the province is a city with the same name. With its strategic geographic location, it is bounded by 7 governorates and is therefore a passageway between the northwest and the centre of the country. The Silyanah governorate has several natural trump cards which turned agriculture into its leading economic activity. Among the most significant towns within the governorate's borders are: Bargou, Eles, Bou Arada, El Aroussa, El Krib, Gaâfour, Kesra, Makthar, Rouhia, and Sidi Bou Rouis.
