The village of Sidi Abu Said is one of the major tourist attractions in Tunis. It is called in that name because it was the birthplace of one of the famous Muslim saints who lived there in the 13th Century called Sheikh Sidi Abu Said ibn Khalef ibn Yahia Ettamini el Beji. It locates about 20km to the northeast of Tunis City. Sidi Abu Said Village is highly admired for the fascinating natural landscape of the small houses stretching over the cliffs of Tunis Bay. One of the legends that the locals usually narrate about the history of the city says that Saint Luis, the leader of one of the invading troops over the village was obsessed by the beauty of one of the Berber Princesses to the extent that he changed his name and lived with her for the rest of his life in this village.
