Roman site of Cillium
Cilium was the ancient name of the city of El Qasrayn that was constructed by the Romans in the 2nd century Ad. By the passage of time, the post of the city decreased and most of the buildings of the city were destructed until the French occupation when the railway station was established in the city.
Thre are still some remains of the Roman City of Cillium scattered over a vast area of land in the area next to the place of l'independence about 4 km to the west. Although the remaining parts of the Roman Cillium are limited, they are worth visiting for the consummate skill of the artisan who sculptured them with that quality. The remains stand currently about 3km away from the modern El Qasrayn City with its hotels and entertainment centers.
