Public Baths

The surviving baths of Kerkouane are located on rue des Artisans. Unlike elsewhere in ancient Roman sites, these baths were small-scale, private and functional. Made by a red plaster, they were probably used by local artisans. Their location near the temple may imply that they served as a place for purification rituals.
