Palm Grove
With hundreds of thousands of palm trees (roughly 200,000), the ever green palmeraie of Tozeur spreads over an area of more than 10 sq km on ave Abdulkacem Chebbi. This huge area is provided with water from over 200 springs that supply 50 million liters of water per day. It is more preferable that a visitor meanders the site on foot. Try to explore the oasis and pass by the old quarter of Bled el-Hader, the 11th-century mosque in the main square, the village of Abbes, and the tomb of marabout (holy man) Sidi Bou Lifa. Do not leave before viewing the statue of Ibn Chabbat at some distance southeast.
