Ong Jemal

Ong Jemal (also 'Ownoq El Jamal', or 'Onoq El Gamala'; meaning, 'Neck of the Camel'), around 30km north of Nefta, is one of the appealing attractions in Tunisia that can not be missed. As its name suggest, the place has a huge unusual rock formation that looks like the neck and head of a camel as if overlooking the barren plains. This sightseeing is a perfect for meditation and watching the sunset out over the sand dunes. If you wish to visit the place, you should join an organized tour from Tozeur. Interestingly, the site was the setting for a number of romantic shots of The English Patient.
