Museum of Islamic Art

Munastir is one of the major tourist cities in Tunisia currently and the major sites in it are the Ribat and the Mosque of Bourguiba with its golden dome. Within the walls of the Ribat, one can find Monastir Museum of Islamic Art. It is a notable sightseeing in the city that displays a marvelous collection of coins dating from the 10th and 11th century, fragments Quran inscriptions from the Islamic era and some fabrics with Coptic linen from Egypt. Among the worth admiration exhibits displayed in the museum come the glassware, bronze articles and the other pieces that date back to the 10th Century. Additionally, the map of Munastir before independence and early photos for the town are displayed in one of the corners of the museum.
