Mosque of Sidi el Ammar
Another religious attraction enclosed within the medina is the mosque of Sidi Ali Ammar in Rue el Mar, the continuation of Rue d'Angleterre. It is located in the middle of the medina around 300m far from the qasaba, in Sousse. This rectangular monument stands in a strategic location at the centre of commercial activities. There is a rectangular door set into the façade, is the only decorated area in the building. The upper register is modelled on niches symmetrically arranged in line with the median axis of the façade.
