Matmata
Matmata is one of the major tourist attractions in Tunisia for its troglodyte that appear as carter-like depressions from the surface and attract a large number of visitors for it permanently. It locates about 450 km away from Tunisia, 60 km westward Medenine, and 34 km away from Gabes. For a long period, this area was a residence for the Berber tribes and there is no certain information about the real reason for living in such dwellings.
