Licinian Baths

The Licinian Bath (also known as the 'Antonian Bath') dates from the 3rd century AD. It was so named after the Roman Emperor Publius Licinius Egnatius Gallienus under the reign of whom the multi-storied building was constructed. The symmetrical bath, which is built on an area of 1700 m², was decorated with fine but incomplete inscriptions. It seems to enjoy a good condition compared to other constructions and baths in Dougga. The bath was later used for the production of olive oil at an unknown date.
