Ksar Tarcine

Ksar Tarcine lies out 12km southeast of Bir Soltane, in the charming oasis of Ksar Ghilane. In ancient Roman times, the area was known as "Centenarium Tibubuci". It was later further developed by hands of local Berber tribes. This remote place, now in ruins, is rarely visited by tourist groups. A number of cisterns as well as a well can be found on the bank of the oued (river bed). To reach the site, follow the road to Beni Khed Iche, off the pipeline road 500m south of the Cafe Bir Soltane. Continue 8km further till you reach a small settlement with a well and a few saplings.
