Al Kaf (also Al-Kāf or Le Kef) is the capital city of Al-Kaf Governorate. It is located in northwestern Tunisia. The city is built on the cliff face of the Jebel Dyr mountain, at a height of 780m. Concerning transportation to and form the city, there is a bus and louage stations located about 600m southwest of place de I'Independance. From the bus station (ave Mongi Slim), where there is a bus service to most of the other cities and governorates, with some buses running twice per day and others five per day for shorter destinations. Red-stripe Iouages offer also transportation to Jendouba, Beja, Makthar and Kasserine and they leave from the bus station parking lot. There are also louages to Sousse in the morning, Teboursouk and Tunis and they stop across the street.
