Kasbah Fort

The kasbah fort is the major site in El Kef City that witnesses its great history and allows the visitor of enjoying a panoramic view of the grain fields and the houses of the city. Visitors usually prefer visiting the forts for entertaining themselves with the view of the ancient Roman Quarries and the presidebtial compound within El Kef. This fort locates over Jebbel Eddir or Eddir Mountain and was mainly constructed in the 5 Century BC. It consists of two forts: the Grand fort established in 1679 and the Small Fort built in 1601. The lower base of the square small fort was essentially established by the Byzantine in the 6th Century.
