House of Venus

Another evidence for the Roman civilization at Maktar are the remains of a Roman house called, the 'Maison de Vénus' (The House de Vénus), located next to the Temple of Hathor Miskar, northeast of the forum. Inside this villa, archeologists could found a well preserved mosaic work showing Venus taking off her sandals and surrounded with birds and fishes. This glorious piece is now on display at the museum.
