Gumrassin
Gumrassin (Ghomrassen) is a city located 24km north-west of Tataouine, in the southern section of Tunisia, and 40 km from Medenine. The city is regarded as the main town of the Jebel Demmer. The town is generally known for the high-quality olive oil as well as a special type of doughnut called ftair. There is a sanctuary (zawiyya), located on a cliff over the center, built around the holy man (marabout) Sidi Moussa Ben Abdallah. From here tourists are taken with the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and hilltops. The mountain has a type of fort. The walls of the old kalaa (Berber hill fort) were supposed to protect the place on both sides against hostile attacks.
