Great Dune

From the busy city to the sandy dunes, the Great Dune of Douz is the gateway to the wonders of the Sahara desert. The Sahara desert starts 50km south of the Zone Touristique. Here you can enjoy watching amazing horsemanship displays, country presentations, camel racing competitions, some poor bunny rabbit being chased by a dog, camels breaking free from their handlers and heading for the open desert behind. Do not leave the oasis before trying an unforgettable camel trip into the dunes with you wearing a long Berber style tunic. You can also try to have an aerial view of the site by taking a 10-minute flight in a light plane.
