Governor House
The Governor House is one of the important constructions in El Kairowan City that was recently restored and known currently as ''Medina House''. It was used as the residence for former beys or pashas of the city during the 18th Century.
In addition to the luxurious exterior view of the house, it is worth admiration for its sumptuous decorations ornamenting the interior part. It consists mainly of a principale hall for hosting guests, Harem and Reception hall and all of them are marvelously decorated with marble latÂticework, plaster molding, cedar and teak decorations. The main reception hall is highly admired for its glamorous style of decoration and tiled arches since it was used as a center for the meetings of Kairouan governor with the noblemen and officials.
