Dar-Chaabane

The small town of Dar Chaabane (Dar Chaâbane El Fehri) lies seductively around 2km/1.25mi northeast of Nabeul. Any bus from the beach can drop you off here. Famed for stonework, the village comprises great number of local masons and stone-carvers whose workshops produce wonder artifacts easily distinguished in doorways and windows all over Tunisia. Tourists are usually amazed with the stunning, breathtaking range of stone-carved works they are allowed to buy from workshops located at the main street there. Try to buy some souvenirs and gifts like a lovely antelope or a nice ashtray.
