Borj Ennar

Another wonderful witness of the city's history is the small celebrated fort of Borj Ennar which dates to the 17th century AD. It was mainly constructed to provide protection to the southeastern section of the medina. The monument had turned into the headquarters of the Association de Sauvegarde de la Medina. This authority is charged with the preserving the medina and contains a list of its 69 mosques as well as all other sites of historical interest.
