Bir EI-Borma

Near the Algerian border, El Borma is a place out of this world. For lovers of the golden dunes of Tunisia, the sahara (desert) of Bir El-Borma is the perfect place. The area is a favored destination to tourists eager to explore the seriously large sandy dunes. Since the area was Tunisia's first oil discovery made in 1964 by Agip of Italy in the south-west of the country, extensive operations of oil exploration are carried out here to extract the area's "black" treasures. The heavenly view of treks walking through and swaying with the sand waves is so common. You are advised to bring a 4WD vehicle to enjoy your trip most.
