Al Marsa
La Marsa is a coastal town at the north of Tunis covering a small space on the shore with more than 70,000 of inhabitance. In the past, La Marsa was the capital of the Precolonial Tunisia.
The name of La Marsa is derived from its ancient Christian name'' Marsa Roum or Christians's Port''. It was called in that name due to the large number of Egyptian Christians who imigrated to that area in the past.
In the modern era, La Marsa was the summer resort of the upper class members of Tunisia including the Tunisian Presodent. Those People began a huge movement of construction be establish some luxurious palaces and entertainment places for making it their own resort.
Nowadays, it is regarded as the most preferable summer resort for the members of the upper middle class of Tunisia.
