The Arch of Septimius Severus is the principal Roman monument and the extremely well preserved in the whole archaeological site from the Roman Period . It was constructed in 195 AD and locates in the eastern part of the site to the northwest of the Basilica of Candidus . The arch was totally surrounded with the Byzantine walls and this protected it by the passage of time .
