Al Qasrayn
governorate is located in west-central
Tunisia
on the frontier with Algeria . It is surrounded by the governorates of El kaf to the north , of the Algerian governorate Tabassah to the west , of Kafsa to the south and by Sidi Bou Said and siliana to the east . The governorate has an area of 8 , 066 km² and is inhabited by 412 . 278 (according to 2004 statistics) .
