About Metameur

Metameur is one of the cities of Medenine governorate that locates few meters away from the capital . It is inhabited by only two families who still follow the ancient costumes and traditions of their ancestors: Temara family and Harraza family .

Metameur Kasr is the only tourist attraction in the city . It is a 600 years old building designed on the Typical style of the Tunisian Ghorfahs , storage rooms with domed rooftops . The remaining part of the kasr consists of three courtyards surrounded with a number of ghorfas and storage rooms for grains .
Metameur location , about 4km west of Medenine and on the main road linking between the main Tunisian cities such as Gabes makes a large number of tourists prefer visiting it . As a touristic city , Metameur encloses a number of restaurants and café shops serving delicious meals and fresh drinks at good prices .
