After climbing the escarpment on the read to Beni Kheddache , and about 30km southwest of Medenine , stands a small village with typically designed ghorfas known as Kasr Joumaa . There are some public transportation pass by the village throughout the day during their way to the neighboring cities of Medenine and Beni Kheddache .

Most of the visitors of Medenine usually stop at the village for a while for having a panoramic view and admiring the attractive architectural style used in these ghorfas . The houses are usually designed as domed buildings for allowing the rainwater from gathering in the lower base and making use of it later . The ceiling of these ghorgas is remarkably decorated with beautiful motifs . Among the worth visiting places in Kasr Joumaa village are the remains of the Old Kalaa or Old citadel that can be reached through an archway leading to the inner courtyard of the kasr and these remains .
