Jendouba is the capital of Jendouba governorate and is located l53km west of Tunis and 60km north of Le Kef . There are bus station in the city that is located about 200m south of place 7 Novembre . The SRT buses go to Ain Draham (nine daily) , Beja (twice daily in the morning) , Bizerte (twice daily) , Le Kef (six daily) and Tabarka (three daily) , while SNTRl buses head to Tunis (six daily) . The louage station is just next to the bus station and serves red louages that go to Bizerte , Le Kef , Tunis and Sousse (via Kairouan) . Louages going to Ain Draham and Tabarka can be found 200m northwest of place 7 Novembre and then another 250m southwest from the train station . There are also five trains run daily that link the city (the station at place de la Republique) with Beja (1:15 hours) , Ghardimao (26 minutes) and Tunis (2:30 hours) .

The city has a quiet atmosphere with little live activities . The most live part there is the centre of the city especially during the early evening hours . The market day in the city is Wednesday . The train which links the city with Tunis makes it an important transit place specially for visitors planning to visit Bulla Regia or Chemtou . Most services in the city will be found around the place de la Republique in the square located in front of the train station . A police station , a post office as well as two banks (both have ATM) can be found in the area .
