About Gightis
The site was discovered only in the 20th century and seems quite primitive . The old buildings which date from the 2nd century A . D . can be found around the ancient capital and forum . The area is a good place for relaxation and enjoying natural sceneries of palms and acacia trees spreading over the coast of Bou Grara gulf . To get to the site , you have to get into one of the buses or louages running from Houmt Souq and Medenine and ask the driver to drop you off at the Gightis which is located south of the modern villages of Bou Grara . Getting out of the site is not as easy as getting into it , mostly because buses and louages are usually full and you will be lucky to find ones with empty seats without having to wait for some time . |
